In Sweden, this tomato grower cultivates approximately 200 tons of unsprayed tomatoes between April and November. Within their greenhouses, spanning an area of about 4100 m2, they produce various varieties. They sell the tomatoes locally, to stores and restaurants, as well as to wholesalers.
Environmentally friendly cultivation
Careful control of irrigation and fertilisation contributes to tasty tomatoes. The company collects all drainage water, which, after passing through a biological purification filter, is reused. In the middle tank, they use 100 cm of pimpstone, which functions effectively as a biofilter. Water circulates 24/7 every day. This way, they save water and prevent plant nutrients from being released into the environment.
