Project info

The forest nursery of Jamy, Poland, has welcomed two water tanks for the irrigation of the nursery. In this nursery small trees as oaks, pines and spruce trees are grown under favourable conditions until they are ready to planted out in the forest.

The water tanks are being filled with water automatically from a deep well. An irrigation system is connected to the tanks, enabling sprinkler irrigation during the period between April and September. In May the sprinkler installation is also running to protect the seedlings and small trees against frost. The whole system is automatic.

The water tanks have a diameter of 14,63 m and the height is 3,81 m. The tanks were completed with tensioned anti algae covers, keeping the water free from dirt.
