Overflow at water tank, Malaysia

Project info

In the Cameron Highlands (Malaysia) rain showers are short but intense. This tank is well fulfilling its duty; collecting rain water for the adjacent greenhouses and irrigating peppers and many sorts of tomatoes.

What draws attention in this picture?

This water tank is most of the time overloaded. Especially now, in the wettest month of the year in the Cameron Highlands. No overflow is installed, which means the excess water in the tank seeps down the tank walls. The marks that show on the tank walls, however, are not corrosion marks. These moisture marks are caused by frequently overflowing water. This is the point where the galvanisation comes into action, ánd where it does an excellent job.

Despite the good quality of galvanisation, we always recommend our customers to install an drain pipe for overflow.
