In Flanders, a poultry farmer had the idea of digesting chicken manure to produce biogas and to turn this into electricity. A fully automatic biogas plant was constructed, and NPI supplied the films for a manure basin via a trusted partner.
This became the largest manure basin in Northern Europe. With embankments of around 11 metres high and an area of 8000 m2, gigantic quantities of manure can be stored in this basin. The film was prefabricated and supplied in sections, which were welded together on location. The lower sheet was made from 1 mm Enpex FPP, with 0.75 mm Enpex FPP used for the upper sheet. Our KIWA certified film was used in both cases.
